Stretch Single Drop Trailers are the longer version of the Step Deck Trailer, and are used to transport loads and freight that are too long to fit on a Standard Step Deck Trailer.

Standard Specifications of a Stretch Single Drop Trailer

STRETCH SINGLE DROP TRAILER LENGTH

The main difference from the Standard Double Drop Trailer is that it is can be up to 63′ in length, as compared to the 37′ length on a Standard Step Deck.

STRETCH SINGLE DROP TRAILER WIDTH

Same as the Standard Step Deck Trailer, the actual width is 102 inches, but the load width is legally required to be 8 feet 6 inches.

Usually, your freight is allowed to overhang on the edges of the trailer, but each state has different requirements as to which permits are needed for this, so be sure to check with our specialists when filling out a Flatbed Quote, or check your state’s documentation.

A good thing to note, as mentioned in the information for most of these trailers, is that most over-wide shipments are almost always required to travel only during daylight hours on the road.

STRETCH SINGLE DROP SHIPMENT WEIGHT

The weight limit for Stretch Single Drop Trailer is a little less than that of the Standard Step Deck Trailer and is required to be no more than 45,000 Lbs.

STRETCH SINGLE DROP LEGAL SHIPMENT HEIGHT

The legal height for a Stretch Single Drop Trailer is about a foot less than what you would get on a Standard Step Deck Trailer. So you cannot go above 10′ without getting a permit.
